Aiming to expand globally, Riiid announced that it established Riiid Labs in Silicon Valley, U.S. The move would allow the leading South Korean AI Edtech startup to enter the global education market with artificial intelligence (AI).

Riiid currently operates Santa TOEIC in Korea and Japan, as well as Vietnam with Santa SAT. The company’s AI Tutor Solution aims to replace traditional lectures and hard copy textbooks with a more personalized AI tutor that is more efficient than human counterparts at a much lower cost.

Based on the U.S. market, Riiid Labs discovers business opportunities through partnerships in various B2B markets that require multiple certifications and learning diagnostics. The startup also explores public and private educational institutions globally, such as South America and the Middle East. Riiid Labs preempts the AI technology-based learning solution market while promoting Riiid’s global market activities.

Upon the establishment, Riiid appointed David Yi as head of the U.S. branch. David served as head of the Asia Region for K12.com, a global online learning platform company, and ACT, a leading university institute that administers the American University Admissions Test.

Unique AI Technology

Through the establishment of this global corporation, Riiid is planning to capture the market by rapidly responding to the worldwide education market demand with AI technology that has proven the actual learning effect and marketability.

In the second half of this year, the AI tutor service will launch sequentially in the domestic and foreign education markets to provide public education and certification tests and to strengthen the capabilities of employees inside the company.

Riiid Co-founder and CEO YJ Jang expressed his excitement over establishing the global corporation during a vital time while assembling the best team possessing a wide range of experiences and capabilities.

Jang added that Riiid would lead to the global education market’s fundamental change based on its unique AI technology proven in the market.

David said that Riiid Labs is already discussing various partnerships with companies highly interested in Riiid’s technologies and solutions. He added that Riiid labs would provide solutions based on the deep understanding of AI technology suitable to various education areas.
