Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea’s largest car manufacturer, unveiled on Tuesday its new design of its-all-electric concept car dubbed the “Prophecy.” The visionary concept EV clearly expresses the company’s latest design language, as it strives to beef up its lineup.

Sensuous Sportiness

“Prophecy” adopts the automotive maker’s design philosophy, Sensuous Sportiness, defined by four essential elements such as proportion, styling, technology, and architecture. Evident in the voluptuous side section is a clean and straightforward One Curve streamline with minimalist restraint.

The concept EV assumes an iconic silhouette dictated by perfect proportions inspired by an aerodynamic design. Thanks to the new pristine EV architecture, Hyundai’s designers achieved the “Ultimate Automotive Form” combined with aesthetic harmony and functionality.

With the advancements of EVs, Prophecy also features autonomous driving technology. Instead of the conventional steering wheel, Hyundai provided a joystick that offers an intuitive driving experience. The joystick’s integrated buttons give drivers access to a wide variety of functions.

Prophecy Interior

The Prophecy’s interior actualizes the benefits of an EV platform, highlighting the advantages of using the stretched cabin of an EV platform. Upon entry of the vehicle, a lifestyle space of refinement and comfort provides customers with a warm welcome.

“We have brought to life yet another icon that establishes a new standard for the EV segment as well as pushing Hyundai’s design vision to even broader horizons.”

Head of Hyundai Global Design Center, SangYup Lee

SangYup added that the design concept would forge an emotional connection between humans and automobiles. Part of the company’s expansion is what it calls “Optimistic Futurism,” an idea embodied by Prophecy.

The name “Prophecy” realizes the concept’s purpose, signifying a bright future for Hyundai’s ambitions, and also its innovative mobility solutions and technologies for EV customers.

Hyundai Motor initially intended to introduce details about the Prophecy at the Geneva International Motor Show. The exhibition was originally scheduled to take place on March 7-17 in Palexpo, Switzerland.

However, organizers canceled the exhibit because of the increased concern over the new coronavirus spread.
