SK Group announces its partnership with American software giant Microsoft Corp. to develop a software technology training program to advance digital transformation (DT) expertise and artificial intelligence (AI) content for its corporate academy.

In a statement last Tuesday, SK Group said that its internal corporate teaching center mySUNI would join hands with Microsoft Corp. to use its online training program Microsoft Learn (MS Learn).

MS Learn creates and offers services and technologies for an interactive education academy on software technologies.

SK said it would compose a training module, including those developed by Microsoft Learn, to produce engineers, experts, and developers, especially in big data concepts. The South Korean company also plans to acquire a license for Azure, an open and flexible cloud computing platform service managed by Microsoft.

SK Group believes that the introduction of an expert certification course would yield globally competitive experts in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation. The company also plans to develop mySUNI-MS curriculum in a degree course in domestic and foreign universities.

SK put up mySUNI academy for employee training in January this year in addition to AI and DT course offerings. The company presently manages and operates 640 educational training centers in nine areas, including leadership, social value, and happiness, with almost 8,000 online students daily.

Cho Don-hyun, mySUNI Chief Learning Officer, said that mySUNI, as an educational platform, would assure its members’ capabilities in terms of leadership and execution of the fundamental innovation Deep Change. SK’s cooperation with Microsoft would boost the competitiveness of SK employees.

Laura Longcore, MS Global Learning vice president, mentioned that the varied educational programs offered by Microsoft would benefit SK employees in improving their AI/DT competencies in digital transformation. Microsoft expects to achieve more significant undertakings through continuous mutual efforts between the two companies.
