Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (President Kim Won-kyung, hereinafter referred to as “GCCEI”) held the “Gyeonggi Startup Flex” event on November 10, successfully completing the matching program between startup companies and CVCs.

“Gyeonggi Startup Flex” is a festival held for the third consecutive year to revitalize the business of startup companies in Gyeonggi-do. This year, the event was held as a part of the “Startup Korea Roadshow” project, and a total of 9 organizations participated: Gyeonggi Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Gachon University, Kyonggi University, GCCEI, Dankook University, Bucheon Industry Promotion Agency, Seoul National University Siheung Campus, Suwon University and Sungkyunkwan University.

This event consisted of three sessions titled “Jump up”, “Show up”, and “Meet up”, respectively. Among the three sessions, various programs were held, such as a matching event between tech startups and CVCs, roundtable discussions, business idea competitions, and an investment consultation session. Among them, during the matching event, GCCEI provided a meeting session for the startups to introduce new technologies and business items to various venture capital companies.

A total of six startup companies participated in this matching program: RTM (anomaly detection AI solution that improves productivity in the system semiconductor manufacturing process), Meisters (home appliance installation and repair service using AI), and Soynet (AI service optimization solution), Team GRIT (remote management of robots using real-time vision data), CP6 (future mobility, SBAS-based autonomous driving route recommendation service), and AiCar (connected car-based EV data analysis and prediction service), and at the event, the six companies demonstrated the competitiveness of their business models and technologies.

Six CVC companies participated in the event: LG Electronics, KT, KT Investment, Infobank, POSCO and Woori Venture Partners. The participating CVCs were asked in-depth questions about the companies’ core technologies, competitiveness, and scale-up strategies of their business models to find startups that they would invest in and could lead to open innovation.

An official from GCCEI said, “By holding a matching event between startup companies in Gyeonggi-do and CVCs, our goal was to help outstanding startups seize good opportunities to expand their businesses with influential CVCs. We do not plan to stop here with this one event, but will continue to hold follow-up meetings to help our startups grow their businesses.”

GCCEI is the organization that hosts the 2023 Startup Package Program of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Startup Promotion Agency. GCCEI organized this event to help startups between 3 and 7 years old grow their businesses. In addition to this event, we provide various services to startup companies such as marketing strategy, market development, open innovation programs, and overseas expansion strategies.
