Samsung Officially Announces Galaxy Fold’s Launch This September
Samsung Galaxy Fold Display

Samsung has finally announced the release of the most anticipated gadget of the past year, the Samsung Galaxy Fold. After being delayed for three months, Galaxy Fold’s release will finally push through this September.

The Galaxy Fold is the first-ever consumer-level phone capable of folding directly on its monitor. It has this feature thanks to its innovative Infinity Flex Display. Its 7.3-inch AMOLED display is made of special type of polymer that gives it incredible flexibility and durability. The screen was able to withstand 200,000 folds during Samsung quality testing.

Samsung originally planned to release the device last June 2019. They, however, ended up delaying it due to some technical issue with the phone. Influencers that received early models of the phone complained about the fragility of the gadget. Some people reported that their Galaxy Fold broke in just a single day.

Samsung attributed the issue to users removing a crucial part of the phone. Some users peeled the top layer of the gadget screen thinking that it was a temporary screen protector. Samsung explained that the sheet was crucial for the integrity of the device monitor. However, users replied by saying that Samsung failed to warn them about the layer.

What’s New With The Galaxy Fold?

To prevent the above issue from reoccurring, Samsung took some steps to improve the Fold. One of these steps was to extend the top protective layer beyond the screen bezel. This design will hopefully prevent people from mistaking it as a screen protector.

“We have taken time to fully evaluate the product design, make necessary improvements, and run rigorous tests to validate the changes we made,” the company’s spokesperson said in a statement.

Samsung’s engineers also added new reinforcements, such as protective caps, to increase the integrity of the device’s hinges. They also reduced the space between the hinge and the device to lessen the stress on the hinges hopefully.

The delay also allowed Samsung to improve other parts of the Galaxy Fold further. These improvements include new apps and improved user experience.

The release will also coincide with Apple’s 2019 phone models and Huawei’s Mate X giving us a very exciting September.
