KT, a prominent South Korean telecommunications company, has announced a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leading provider of cloud computing solutions, to advance the development of generative AI and mobile services tailored for business clients.

During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, KT formalized its collaboration with AWS, a partnership aimed at advancing generative AI and private 5G services. Through this joint endeavor, KT and AWS will harness Amazon Bedrock to develop generative AI capabilities while also expanding cloud-based private 5G networks.
Leveraging Amazon Bedrock, the partnership endeavors to create generative AI solutions integrated into business applications, empowering corporate entities to optimize operations and drive innovation.
Amazon Bedrock, an offering by AWS, facilitates the creation of generative AI services on its cloud platform, ensuring the integration of such AI capabilities into application development.
This tool enables customers to leverage generative AI safely, enhancing the functionality and efficiency of their applications. Additionally, the private 5G service, tailored for corporate and public sector clients, offers a dedicated closed network solution, leveraging AWS’s robust cloud infrastructure to deliver unmatched speed and reliability in connectivity.
KT’s involvement in the IPW on AWS program further strengthens the collaboration, allowing B2B customers to access KT’s cloud-based private 5G service through the AWS platform. This initiative bridges telecommunications and IT capabilities, as KT’s CEO Kim Young-shub emphasized during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Kim highlighted the company’s plans to integrate communication technology with IT, signaling a strategic shift towards prioritizing AI-driven innovations in its operations.
