KT plans two next-generation artificial intelligence service robots for the hospitality sector

The South Korean telecom services provider, Korea Telecom Corporation announced the release of two types of next-generation robots. The two KT robots are based on artificial intelligence.

KT is currently expanding its robot product lineup. Bear Robotics, which is a self-driving robots company, has built the first robot. LG Electronics has however developed the second KT robot.

The Bear Robotics robot comes with efficient driving stability. It features a huge and sturdy adjustable tray for dishes and soups. The LED availability along with 10.1 inches wide display is further beneficial. This makes the robot perfect for advertising.

Meanwhile, the robots prepared by LG comprise three-dimensional cameras and six independent suspensions. A guidance mode is added in this new model. Likewise, it also has improved safe movements.

Customers can easily be connected to the restaurant call system. Both of the KT robots have smart ordering using tablets. A quick response is given to customers upon order. Similarly, both KT robots have a sound navigation system.

KT robots can carry drinks and food in almost every sort of indoor place. Consequently, multiple robots can work with new models without any hindrance.

The South Korean telecom company certainly plans to expand its artificial robots. The company joined hands with T-Order, a tablet developer in February.

Through this partnership, KT is planning to capture 65 percent of the domestic tablet market in the coming years.

The installation of robots is catching speed among South Korean restaurants. It’s largely because it reduces the chances of mistakes. Restaurant owners can cut labour costs.

KT: Korean robot industry by 2030

There could be more than 10,000 serving robots in South Korea by 2030. The South Korean robot industry generated a revenue of 9.56 trillion won in 2021. The industry grew by 4 percent in comparison to its previous year i.e. 2020.

South Korea continues to have good demand for robots. The country has become one of the most automated countries in the globe. Small medium enterprises have a great role in this growth. The majority of robot companies are local small medium enterprises.

Logistics companies are also accordingly installing robots for handling the packaging process and saving hiring costs. The service robot market is expanding and diversifying every year.
