The Korea Testing & Research Institute, under the leadership of President Kim Hyeon-cheol (commonly known as KTR), inaugurated the ‘Software Testing and Certification Support Center’ at Pangyo Techno Valley, Seongnam-si. This strategic move is aimed at broadening KTR’s footprint in software testing and certification, while catering to the advanced technological industries in the vicinity.
The grand opening took place on July 31, with the center conveniently located on the first floor of the Startup Campus in Pangyo Techno Valley.
This newly-established center offers an array of software testing and certification services. These encompass GS (Good Software) certification and CC (Common Criteria, Information Technology Security Evaluation) certification evaluations across sectors like industrial and information security, data governance, embedded applications, and digital content.
Equipped with cutting-edge testing tools and helmed by national R&D specialists in domains such as IT security products and features, the center is poised to provide specialized support to IT firms and affiliated institutions.
The center’s future roadmap includes diversifying its expertise into AI reliability assessment, medical and healthcare software validation, robotic functional safety analysis, and software testing plus certification evaluations for sectors like national defense and high-tech convergence.
Additionally, it is designed to be an accessible touchpoint and advisory desk for surrounding businesses keen on availing KTR’s testing and certification services.
KTR Director Kim Hyeon-cheol expressed, “The Pangyo Software Testing & Certification Support Center is poised to stand as KTR’s flagship testing and certification entity, delivering its services across all sectors. We anticipate it evolving into a pivotal tech nucleus, championing Korea’s specialized software domains that demand sophisticated expertise, including areas like AI, medical technology, and national defense.”
