The 2023 season of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, a racing competition organized by the Italian supercar brand Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. has ended. The World Finals, the final event of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, was held on November 18 and 19 (local time), and tire manufacturer Hankook Tire & Technology Co Ltd (CEO/President Lee Soo-il, hereinafter referred to as Hankook Tire) exclusively supplies its racing tires to the competition.
At the World Finals held at the Vallelunga Autodromo in Italy, drivers from each continental series competed for the championship trophy. Prior to the World Finals, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series was held in Europe, North America and Asia from May to November this year, and many motorsports fans were watching to see who would be crowned champion in each category.
Hankook Tire‘s high-performance racing tire ‘Ventus’ showed its fantastic chemistry with Lamborghini’s HURACÁN Super Trofeo EVO2 and demonstrated its technological prowess as a top tire in the competition. Throughout the season, Ventus has gone through various climates and extreme driving environments around the world, showcasing its excellent on-track grip and handling performance.
After two days of intense racing, world champions were crowned in four categories. In the “PRO” category, Amaury Bonduel of “BDR Competition by Grupo Prom” won the championship. With flawless skills and overwhelming speed, Bonduel beat prominent competitors to become the world champion.
Alex Au and Frederik Schandorff of Target Racing won the Pro-Amateur (Pro-AM) division, and Anthony McIntosh and Glenn McGee of PPM won the Amateur and AM divisions. In addition, Shota Abkhazava of ART Line won the Lamborghini Cup category.
Kyle Marcelli and Daniel Formal of Wayne Taylor Racing, who won the 2023 North American Series championship, said, “The top performance of the Vetus tires was a big help in winning the championship.
Hankook Tire plans to support the successful hosting of the racing competition by featuring Ventus tires in the 2024 season. Starting with the North American competition to be held in March 2024, matches will be held sequentially in major countries on four continents: Europe, Asia and Oceania. In July 2024, the third round of the Asia Series will be held at the Inje Speedium track. Hankook Tire plans to promote Korean motorsports overseas and introduce the company’s world-class technology to racing fans through this game.
