On October 12, the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (Director: Kim Won-Kyung, hereinafter referred to as ‘GCCEI’) held the 19th ‘Startup 815 IR – NEXT’ at the Pangyo Startup Zone.
The GCCEI stands as a beacon for nurturing emerging startups, offering a structured pathway to commercialization coupled with hands-on mentoring.
The ‘Startup 815 IR – NEXT’ initiative, steered by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center, aims to spotlight companies on the cusp of securing subsequent investments, pairing them seamlessly with pertinent funding entities. This 19th iteration honed in on companies from the cybersecurity and network domain, recognized as one of the top 10 rapidly expanding sectors.
The participating companies included ‘TeamGrit‘ (a web-based real-time video control service for short-range controlled mobile devices), ‘ANDOpen‘ (a facial recognition self-verification solution using a security card), ‘Triz Networks‘ (an intelligent automated wired/wireless integrated network operation monitoring service platform), and ‘OpusM‘ (a universal blockchain solution, LedgerMaster). All four companies showcased their business models and competitiveness.
As for the venture capitalists, KT Investment, NextGen Investment, Platinum Technology Investment, Woori Venture Partners, NextWave Venture Partners, and L&S Venture Capital participated, conducting in-depth inquiries into the key technologies, competitiveness, and scale-up strategies of the presenting companies’ business models to verify their investment potential.
An official from the GCCEI stated, “Through NEXT IR, we will discover excellent high-growth startups and actively match them with investors to support successful investment attraction.”
Meanwhile, the Pangyo Startup Zone is the largest startup support cluster in South Korea, located in Pangyo Techno Valley, jointly operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Korea Institute of startup & Entrepreneurship Development, and the GCCEI.
