The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (Gyeonggi CCEI, Director Kim Won-kyung) hosted the 16th Startup 815 IR–NEXT at the Pangyo Startup Zone on July 13th.
Startup 815 IR – NEXT is an IR program that helps companies that want to attract follow-up investment by connecting them with fund investors. This round focused on the system semiconductor field, which is one of the 10 super gap technologies.
Three companies participated in the event: R&R lab (a developer of amorphous-Si melt heat treatment equipment for next-generation DRAM), WaveLord (a provider of engineering growth substrate wafer technology for GaN power semiconductor devices), and Double USS (a creator of “FreAI,” a semiconductor manufacturing site diagnosis solution for productivity improvement). They presented their business models and competitiveness to the investors.
The VCs who attended the event were KT Investment, K-Len Ventures, Honest Ventures, Capstone Partners, Central Investment Partners, and Platinum Technology Investor. They asked in-depth questions about the core technologies, competitiveness, and scale-up strategies of the participating companies’ business models.
An official from the Gyeonggi CCEI said, “Through NEXT IR, we aim to discover excellent high-tech startups and actively match them with investors to support their successful investment attraction.”
The Startup Zone was established in 2017 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to foster promising entrepreneurs in the new industry. It is the largest startup support cluster in Korea, operated by the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development and the Gyeonggi CCEI.
