Gyeonggido Business & Science Accelerator (President Kang Seong-cheon, hereinafter GBSA) introduced and shared the Pangyo Techno Valley’s ecosystem with 18 students from the University of Melbourne in Australia at the Pangyo Techno Valley Startup Campus on December 15th.

Students listened to the history, ecosystem, and industrial policies of Pangyo Techno Valley as Korea’s representative industrial cluster in a seminar room in the Startup Campus. Then, they toured the inside of the Startup Campus, including startup support spaces and digital open labs.

During this visit, students had time to discuss and learn about the differences between Australian industrial clusters, such as factors that have grown Pangyo Techno Valley as Korea’s representative industrial cluster in Gyeonggi-do rather than Seoul, regulatory solutions and support for new technologies and Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies over the long term through startup support and fostering.

Nia Zellman, a student at the University of Melbourne in Australia, said, “While Melbourne or Australian clusters focus on supporting specific technologies in the development of clusters, Pangyo Techno Valley seems to have a well-established long-term plan that not only supports technology but also public transportation infrastructure and services, allowing new populations to continue to flow in.” He said, “If I work in the field of smart city construction or industry in the future, I think it would be good to benchmark the ecosystem of Pangyo Techno Valley.”

Meanwhile, GBSA operates various programs, such as global PR and acceleration programs, to help startups in Pangyo 1 and Pangyo 2 enter the global market.
