This year’s Samsung Unpacked Event has fans around the world excited over their new products. At least once a year, the tech company gathers analysts, reporters, and industry folks for an event aptly named “Samsung Unpacked,” where Samsung “unpacks” or shows off all its latest flagship devices.

Samsung hosted a one-hour live stream of the event on its website, sharing the innovations they have committed to their products, from the Galaxy Z Flip to the Galaxy S20, and Galaxy Buds Plus. As a surprise, Samsung announced that the entire Unpacked event was streamed using a Galaxy S20.

TM Roh, Samsung’s president and head of mobile communications business, started with reminiscing the growth of the Galaxy series. From the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note to the Galaxy Fold released last year, Samsung attributes its success with believing in innovation.

In 2018 Samsung introduced the Galaxy S9 and, in 2019, the Galaxy S10. For 2020, Samsung skipped a few numbers and named the next in the series as Galaxy S20.

After the introduction of the Galaxy S20, Drew Blackard, head of U.S. mobile product management, stepped in to present the phone’s specifications.

The S20 contains three base cameras, the most powerful of which is a 64-megapixel high-resolution lens. The S20 and S20+ support “Space” zooms up to 30x, while the S20 Ultra takes it to another level with 100x zoom. All phones can also capture videos in stunning 8K resolution and cast these videos on an 8K smart television.

The S20 Ultra with four cameras features a depth sensor and an unbelievable 108-megapixel AI sensor on a wide-angle lens.

Thanks to artificial intelligence (AI) and the S20’s multiple cameras, the “Single Take” mode allows the user to take a short video of up to ten seconds, capturing different versions of one moment. The feature provides multiple options to select from with one shot.

New #GalaxyS20 is available in a choice of three models: the 6.2-inch Galaxy S20, the 6.7-inch Galaxy S20+, and the 6.9-inch Galaxy S20 Ultra. Check out the video for a detailed look at the design https://t.co/QefumOe9vC pic.twitter.com/CqzOuDt5NN

To store high-resolution photos and videos, the S20 boasts an incredible storage capacity of up to 1.5 terabytes using a microSD card.

Samsung’s S series phone will come in three variants, the S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. Starting at $999 (1.18 million won), $1,199 (1.41 million won), and $1,399 (1.65 million won), respectively, all three models will support 5G technology. S20 comes with a 6.2-inch AMOLED display, S20+ with 6.7 inches, and S20 Ultra with 6.7 inches.

David Park, head of U.S. mobile channel marketing, presents the prices for the S20 series.

All three phones come with a 16-gigabyte RAM powered by next-generation memory technology Samsung LPDDR5.

Samsung also partnered with companies such as Netflix, Google, and Microsoft to bring better services to users

Samsung said pre-orders for the phones would start on February 21, with the devices hitting the shelves on March 6.
