Naver has introduced a new multilingual guide for its Naver Maps app to assist foreign tourists in navigating South Korea with ease. Available in Japanese, Chinese, and English, the guide offers helpful tips for exploring top destinations and using public transportation. This makes Naver Maps the only navigation app in Korea providing support in four languages, catering to visitors from the US, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, and other countries.

The newly introduced Naver Map Usage Guide aims to enhance the travel experience for international tourists, simplifying the process of using the app while visiting Korea. By offering clear guidance on finding attractions and utilizing local transit, Naver is making it easier for foreign visitors to enjoy their stay and explore the country with greater convenience.

In addition to being available online, the new Naver Map Usage Guide will be distributed as leaflets at key tourist spots, including Incheon Airport’s information desks, the Airport Railroad service centers, and the Myeongdong Welcome Center. This ensures easy access to the guide for foreign visitors in high-traffic areas, making it simpler for them to navigate the app while exploring South Korea.

Choi Seung-rak, the head of Naver Maps, emphasized the company’s goal of making Naver Maps the go-to tool for international tourists exploring Korea. “We aim to make it easier for foreign tourists to explore South Korea using only Naver Maps,” he said.

To further promote the service globally, Naver plans to collaborate with international influencers and launch targeted campaigns to raise awareness and expand the app’s reach.

Since 2018, Naver Maps has been enhancing its multilingual capabilities to cater to non-Korean speakers. The app has steadily improved its services by adding English, Chinese, and Japanese language support.

This year, Naver expanded its offerings to include more detailed travel information, including better translation accuracy for location details and public transportation, ensuring a more seamless experience for foreign users.

Naver Maps will continue to evolve, with plans for further updates in 2025. These include new features such as restaurant reservations, which will enhance the app’s functionality and accessibility for international tourists. Through these continuous improvements, Naver aims to make traveling in Korea more convenient and enjoyable for visitors worldwide.
