Samsung Electronics on Friday launched its latest QLED 4K TV addition, dubbed “The Terrace,” to its award-winning home entertainment Lifestyle TV lineup. The Terrace brings the full indoor viewing experience outside with Samsung’s first outdoor QLED 4K TV featuring ultra-bright picture quality, and an accompanying soundbar.
The South Korean tech giant showcased The Terrace through an online event amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Samsung launched on Friday a consumer model of its latest unit in the United States and Canada, followed by Australia, New Zealand, and Germany later this year. The company added that it would also release a professional model designed for businesses later this year.
A Smarter Outdoor Entertainment and Audio Experience
Samsung designed The Terrace to fit perfectly on any outdoor space and various weather conditions with its weather-resistant durability. It boasts a crystal-clear display with a brightness level of 2,000 nits, increasing outside visibility even in broad daylight.
The Terrace’s QLED 4K display features an adaptive picture technology to maximize viewing experience outdoors. Samsung’s latest addition lessens unwanted glare by using anti-reflective coating, allowing consumers to enjoy content without disruption.
Offered in 55, 65, and 75-inch models, The Terrace provides a clear, lifelike picture quality with a high motion rate perfect for motion-intensive content.
The Terrace, coupled with its The Terrace Soundbar, maximizes the home theater TV experience with its customizable sound output. Its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity allows it to connect to the soundbar and other devices. The soundbar also features distortion-canceling technology that provides a rich and clear audio experience.
Samsung’s visual display business president, Han Jong-hee, said that new trends and lifestyle habits rapidly change amid the ongoing pandemic. The number of consumers using screens to cope with work, exercise, and engage in other online activities has risen. He said that with The Terrace, work, and leisure at home becomes more fulfilling.
Along with The Terrace, Samsung also revealed three additions to its 2020 Lifestyle TV line. This includes “The Frame” that could turn into an art display when turned off; “The Sero” that could rotate between vertical and horizontal orientations; and “The Serif” created for home deco aficionados with its 360-degree design supported on a floor stand.
