South Korea’s web portal giant, Naver Corp., announced its plans to release the beta version of Cue, an advanced generative AI search service, in September. With similarities to Microsoft’s GPT-4-powered web search engine Bing, Cue: is designed to excel in understanding lengthy and complex queries, offering users a more intuitive and efficient search experience.Â
One of Cue:’s core features lies in its capability to comprehend intricate questions and devise comprehensive search plans, setting it apart in the AI search domain.
Naver plans to start application services catering to both general users and corporate customers through their technology channel, ‘Channel Tech,’ on the 21st of the month.
Additionally, Naver plans to launch services powered by its hyper-scale artificial intelligence (AI) platform, HyperCLOVA X, set to debut on August 24. Naver aims to introduce a range of generative AI services in sequential order by the end of this year.
This next-generation model follows the debut of the hyper-scale AI LLM ‘HyperCLOVA’ in 2021, a feat as one of only three similar models worldwide. Now, two years later, the upgraded version, HyperCLOVA X, will make its premiere.
Naver has already provided a pre-release of HyperCLOVA X to its partner startups, granting them early access to its application program interface (API). Naver’s vision involves integrating this advanced language model into tools tailored for creators and small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) active on the Naver platform.
Alongside the HyperCLOVA X breakthrough, Naver has also introduced a revamped version of its writing tool, integrated with HyperCLOVA X, to enhance the content creation process. By incorporating HyperCLOVA X into the Smart Editor content creation tool, Naver empowers users with improved writing recommendations and assists in generating drafts and refining expressions through the input of relevant keywords.
Starting in October, the Korean tech giant aims to expand its market reach and impact through its HyperCLOVA X-based B2B initiatives. The company plans to introduce a version of ‘Clova Studio,’ an AI tool powered by the HyperCLOVA X model, to select companies in August, followed by an official release in October.Â
Enterprise customers can seamlessly integrate their data with HyperCLOVA X to build custom productivity-enhancing tools or create tailored AI services through this offering. Moreover, Naver will introduce ‘Neurocloud,’ a hybrid cloud solution specifically designed for corporate clients utilizing ultra-large AI services to enhance security and performance within the corporate ecosystem.
Including HyperCLOVA X in the CLOVA Studio package opens up many possibilities for enterprise customers. By combining their valuable data with this robust AI model, businesses can derive useful insights, automate processes, and unlock new avenues for growth and innovation.Â
Naver explained, “It is a hybrid cloud customized for companies that install server infrastructure directly inside the customer’s Internet Data Center (IDC).
