Lotte Data Communication Partners with Neubilty to Develop Autonomous Security Robots

Lotte Data Communication, a South Korean company, recently announced a partnership with Neubilty, a domestic autonomous robot service provider, to develop autonomous security and safety robots. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on February 28th, 2024, at Lotte Data Communication’s headquarters in Seoul.

The collaboration aims to jointly develop autonomous driving security and safety robots, with a focus on detecting and preventing security and safety issues across various environments. Lotte Data Communication seeks to leverage Neubilty’s expertise in autonomous robot technology to effectively enhance security measures and address safety concerns.

Autonomous driving robots with sensors and IoT devices will navigate at low speeds within factory premises and building perimeters. Their primary function is to detect potential security breaches and safety hazards, proactively preventing accidents. Lotte Data Communication will contribute by sharing on-site physical security data and providing IoT-based safety devices. At the same time, Neubilty will oversee the operation of self-driving mobile vehicles and robots.

These robots, designed to operate in urban environments, utilize self-driving software developed by Neubilty based on visual data captured through cameras. They are characterized by their ability to move at low speeds on pedestrian paths, enabling them to monitor and identify security and safety anomalies in facilities effectively.

Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MOU), Lotte Data Communication will oversee sharing on-site physical security construction data and the provision of IoT-based safety devices for industrial applications. Neubilty, on the other hand, will take charge of the operation of autonomous mobile vehicles and robots, leveraging its expertise in this domain.

The collaboration between Lotte Data Communication and Neubilty is set to encompass several key areas, including hardware development, system integration, field testing, and joint marketing efforts for self-driving security and safety robots. By pooling their resources and expertise, the two companies aim to drive innovation in developing and deploying autonomous driving technology for enhanced security and safety measures in various industrial environments.
