This 45-inch model, designed for gamers, boasts a 5,120 x 2,160 resolution, offering an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio. The monitor features LG’s unique bendable technology, allowing it to smoothly transition from a flat display to a 900R curvature in seconds, giving users greater control and flexibility over their gaming setup.
The UltraGear 45GX990A has already garnered recognition, winning three prestigious awards, including the ‘Best of Innovation’ accolade at CES 2025. It leverages advanced WOLED technology to provide exceptional image quality with anti-glare and low reflection (AGLR) features, enhancing the gaming experience by delivering vibrant visuals and minimizing distractions.
LG will showcase the UltraGear GX9 45GX990A at CES 2025, where the company is expected to provide more details, including pricing. The event, scheduled for January 27, 2025, will highlight this groundbreaking 5K2K OLED gaming monitor, which has already earned three prestigious awards, including the ‘Best of Innovation’ recognition. The monitor’s bendable design and LG’s advanced Dual-Mode technology are set to revolutionize the gaming experience.
The UltraGear GX9 45GX990A offers an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time and supports variable refresh rates, making it ideal for fast-paced gaming. It is certified for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, ensuring a tear-free and smooth visual experience. The monitor’s 5,120 x 2,160 resolution delivers sharp and immersive images in an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio, and users can adjust the screen’s curvature from flat to a 900R curve, depending on their preference or the type of game being played.
Another highlight of the 45GX990A is its upgraded Dual-Mode feature, allowing users to easily switch between resolution and refresh rate presets. This customization extends to adjusting the aspect ratio and picture size, providing a personalized setup for various gaming genres and room configurations. Whether you are playing fast-action shooters or strategy games, the monitor can adapt to deliver optimal performance. The flexibility also extends to the 45GX950A, a non-bending sibling model with similar features.
Both the GX9 monitors are designed for extended use with gaming in mind. They are certified for low blue light emissions, which helps reduce eye strain during long gaming sessions. Additionally, the monitors come equipped with LG’s proprietary Anti-Glare and Reflection coating, ensuring clear visibility even in bright environments. Powered by LG webOS, these monitors offer more than just gaming functionality, allowing users to stream video content seamlessly, further enhancing their versatility.
Alongside these two models, LG is unveiling a third UltraGear GX9 OLED monitor, the 39GX90SA. This 39-inch display offers a fixed 800R curve and features the same 5,120 x 2,160 resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio. It supports a 0.03ms response time, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and a 240Hz refresh rate. However, the 39GX90SA lacks the Dual-Mode technology available on the larger models and comes with a lower WQHD resolution. The display also features DisplayPort 1.4 and retains webOS for streaming and gaming purposes. Pricing details for the new lineup are yet to be announced, with further information expected soon.
