LG Electronics is stepping up its push into the smart logistics sector through a new partnership with LogisValley, South Korea’s largest integrated logistics firm. The two companies recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at LG Digital Park in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, agreeing to work together on the development of advanced logistics centers powered by innovative technologies.

By combining LG’s expertise in smart factory systems with LogisValley’s deep experience in logistics infrastructure and operations, the companies aim to create next-generation logistics solutions. This move reflects LG’s broader strategy to expand its smart factory solutions business and capitalize on the growing market for intelligent logistics systems.

Under the new partnership, LG Electronics and LogisValley aim to create advanced logistics hubs by blending LG’s smart factory technologies — such as autonomous robots, digital twin systems, big data, and generative AI — with LogisValley’s deep experience in logistics center development and operations. The goal is to build intelligent, customized logistics solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability for both local and global clients.

LG plans to deploy various robots across its logistics centers to automate labor-intensive tasks, such as box packing and item sorting. Autonomous mobile robots equipped with robotic arms will handle repetitive tasks, while vision AI, powered by camera systems, will help reduce packaging and sorting errors. These technologies are designed to reduce manual labor and enhance overall precision in logistics processes.

In addition, LG will introduce automated systems to manage inventory classification and storage more efficiently. This approach will help maximize warehouse space while streamlining outbound logistics through robotic solutions. Digital twin technology will also play a key role by enabling virtual simulations of logistics centers. These simulations enable optimized planning and the early identification of potential bottlenecks before actual implementation.

The collaboration goes beyond product deployment. LG and LogisValley have agreed to work closely from the initial design phase of new logistics centers, ensuring that LG’s technologies are seamlessly integrated into the infrastructure. This end-to-end cooperation is expected to deliver better operational synergy and pave the way for tailored solutions adapted to each project’s specific needs.

Both companies also plan to use these smart logistics solutions in their own networks. LG will apply the technologies in its home appliance distribution centers, while LogisValley will implement them across its directly managed facilities. This internal deployment will not only improve their operations but also serve as real-world case studies to demonstrate the value of their joint solutions.

LG will also supply commercial display technologies for a premium mixed-use complex in Hanoi, Vietnam, being developed by LogisValley. This project includes high-end hotels and retail spaces and will feature LG’s latest display solutions integrated with its Business Cloud platform, underlining the companies’ joint efforts to expand beyond logistics into smart infrastructure development.

The global smart logistics market is projected to grow rapidly, reaching over $212 billion by 2032, according to Fortune Business Insights. By combining their strengths, LG and LogisValley are positioning themselves to capitalize on this growing demand and expand their presence in the global smart logistics market.
