LG CNS Secures All Major Generative AI Cloud Certifications, a First in Korea

LG CNS, the IT solutions subsidiary of the LG Group, has become the first company in South Korea to secure top generative AI certifications from all three global cloud leaders: Microsoft, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The company announced on Thursday that it recently obtained Microsoft’s “Build AI Apps on Microsoft Azure Specialization,” completing its portfolio of AI-focused credentials across the major cloud platforms.

The certifications recognize LG’s capabilities in developing and deploying advanced generative AI applications, enabling it to offer clients enhanced expertise in building cloud-based AI solutions across multiple global platforms.

The “Build AI Apps on Microsoft Azure Specialization” certification is awarded to partners that demonstrate advanced expertise in designing, building, and managing AI applications on Microsoft’s Azure platform. To qualify, companies must pass a rigorous third-party audit and meet multiple standards, including proven business performance, successful customer cases, and programs that enhance employee technical competencies.

LG CNS has strengthened its expertise by carrying out extensive AI initiatives that leverage Azure AI Services, Azure App Services, and Azure OpenAI. These projects span diverse industries, including public services, finance, and manufacturing, showcasing the company’s capability to deliver robust, enterprise-level generative AI solutions.

As part of its collaboration with Microsoft, LG CNS operates specialized teams like the “MS Launch Center” and “MS Cloud Team,” which focus on providing customized AI and cloud services to enterprise clients. The company has also engaged in joint initiatives such as the “Microsoft AI Tour in Seoul.”

LG CNS continues to implement differentiated AI services by integrating advanced technologies, such as fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and prompt engineering, into Azure-based solutions. One notable example includes the deployment of a generative AI-powered intelligent search tool for a manufacturing client, which significantly improved product design efficiency.

The achievement builds on LG CNS’s earlier milestones in generative AI. It was the first Korean company to earn Amazon Web Services’ “Generative AI Competency” and the first in Asia to be certified as a “Gen AI Specialized Corp” by Google Cloud. By holding certifications from all three cloud leaders, LG CNS is pursuing a multi-engine strategy, enabling clients to adopt the most suitable AI models across platforms.

Kim Tae-hoon, Senior Vice President and Head of the AI & Cloud Division at LG CNS, emphasized the company’s commitment to enterprise-focused innovation. “With our globally recognized expertise in AI and cloud technologies, we will continue to deliver optimized and differentiated services that create tangible value for our clients,” he said.
