Korean telecom leader KT is deepening its partnership with U.S.-based AI platform company Palantir Technologies to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across various industries in South Korea. Under a new strategic agreement announced on June 12, the two companies will combine their technical strengths and marketing efforts to deliver advanced AI-driven solutions for operational efficiency.
As part of this collaboration, Palantir’s Chief Revenue Officer Ryan Taylor recently visited KT’s Gwanghwamun headquarters in Seoul. During the visit, executives from both firms discussed detailed strategies for applying AI technologies across key sectors, aiming to support Korea’s digital innovation and industry-wide modernization.
As part of their deepening alliance, KT and Palantir are moving forward with concrete implementation plans to accelerate AI adoption in South Korea. These efforts include deploying KT specialists to work directly with Palantir’s global engineering teams. The collaboration enables KT to absorb Palantir’s technical know-how and apply it to real-world scenarios, starting with internal proof-of-concept (PoC) projects that analyze large-scale telecom data.
The PoC projects are designed to evaluate the impact of integrating AI into KT’s core operations, particularly in areas involving massive data volumes. By testing Palantir’s solutions internally, KT aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of data-driven decision-making and build a foundation for offering similar capabilities to external clients. The ultimate goal is to drive operational efficiency and improve service delivery through AI transformation.
In addition to technical collaboration, the two companies are offering joint training programs and a certification system focused on Palantir’s technology. These programs are intended to upskill KT employees and ensure they can effectively deploy Palantir’s platforms in client environments. By building in-house AI expertise, KT is positioning itself to lead in delivering advanced analytics and decision-making tools across industries.
KT and Palantir have also agreed to act as exclusive partners within the financial sector, targeting banks and insurance firms with tailored AI solutions. Beyond finance, the companies are pursuing broader joint sales and marketing efforts, including customized strategies for sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare. This strategic alignment aims to expand their reach and deepen impact across Korea’s industrial landscape.
To further support these efforts, KT and Palantir plan to host industry-specific seminars focused on AI transformation. These events will address the unique challenges and needs of each sector, offering insights into how AI can drive innovation and operational excellence. By combining KT’s local industry knowledge with Palantir’s advanced technology, the partnership aims to deliver measurable value to Korean enterprises.
KT emphasized that the partnership with Palantir plays a vital role in advancing its AI transformation strategy. By strengthening its internal capabilities through collaboration and training, KT plans to deliver Palantir’s AI-powered data solutions to Korean businesses looking to enhance decision-making through data insights and automation.
Ahn Chang-yong, Executive Vice President of KT’s Enterprise Division, emphasized the importance of the alliance, stating that it will help enhance clients’ competitiveness by addressing real-world business challenges. In addition to exclusive collaboration in the financial sector, KT and Palantir will jointly approach other industries with targeted marketing strategies and host AX-focused seminars tailored to the unique needs of each sector.
