KT Corp, the Korean conglomerate, has recently integrated “AI Tutor,” an interactive block coding service, into its coding education platform, AI Codiny. This new addition allows for bi-directional communication with an AI tutor, providing a smart learning experience for users.
In 2019, KT introduced AI Codiny, an innovative program designed to enable learners to acquire and apply advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data.
With a focus on simplicity and accessibility, AI Codiny equips learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the evolving landscape of AI, IoT, and big data.
The newly launched AI Tutor leverages advanced AI technologies, including speech recognition (STT), speech synthesis (TTS), and conversation processing, to provide interactive educational services for block coding
Through the integration of AI speech recognition and synthesis, the AI tutor can understand and respond to users’ spoken queries and answers, delivering a truly immersive learning environment.
Whether seeking clarifications or providing correct responses during quizzes, users can interact with the AI tutor as if engaging in a genuine conversation. In response, the AI tutor provides spoken answers and personalized guidance.
KT’s AI Tutor goes beyond basic instruction, offering real-time question-and-answer interactions powered by advanced conversation processing technology. The feature enables users to engage in dynamic exchanges with the AI tutor, facilitating supplemental learning and in-depth training.
Through voice-based explanations, the AI tutor provides additional guidance on block coding techniques, problem-solving strategies, and frequently asked questions, empowering users to grasp concepts more effectively and efficiently.
KT has ambitious plans to broaden the reach of the AI Tutor service by incorporating it into 16 additional courses, encompassing intermediate and advanced levels. This expansion will enable users to leverage the AI Tutor’s capabilities to learn in accordance with their individual proficiency.
Currently, KT extends its support for AI tutors exclusively in the beginner course of AI Codiny’s block coding curriculum, laying the foundation for a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
“We expect AI Tutor to provide users with a realistic learning environment and contribute to the revitalization of the education business using AI,” said Kim Bong-ki, head of the Convergence Research Center at KT Convergence Technology Institute. “We will continue to actively support the use of AI Tutor as an assistant teacher for various subjects in the public education market,” he added.
