KT Corp., a leading telecommunications company in South Korea, has formed a strategic alliance with the U.S.-based Palantir Technologies to advance its AI transformation efforts. The agreement, signed on March 12 in the United States, positions KT as the first South Korean firm to become part of Palantir’s Worldwide Partner Ecosystem—a global network of technology and business collaborators. This partnership is set to enhance KT’s AI-driven projects and support its growth in the U.S. market.
The latest alliance with Palantir aims to enhance KT’s AI transformation (AX) efforts and explore joint business opportunities in South Korea. As part of this initiative, both companies will leverage their expertise to drive digital innovation and AI adoption across industries.
The partnership was formalized by KT CEO Kim Young-snob and Palantir CEO Alex Karp, who both expressed confidence in the collaboration. Kim highlighted the synergy between Palantir’s advanced technology and KT’s expertise in consulting, stating that this alliance would create a strong competitive edge in both domestic and global AI markets.
Through this partnership, Palantir will provide its AI-powered data analytics platforms to support major Korean enterprises, particularly in sectors requiring high security and regulatory compliance, such as finance. KT plans to integrate Palantir’s software into its operations to enhance efficiency and business quality. Additionally, KT will introduce Palantir’s AI solutions into its Secure Public Cloud (SPC), a cloud platform designed to facilitate AI transformation by offering secure infrastructure and tailored AI services.
The Secure Public Cloud, set for commercialization in the second quarter, will benefit from Palantir’s security technology, ensuring a highly protected environment for AI applications. Combining KT’s cloud and network capabilities with Palantir’s expertise in AI-driven security, the two companies aim to deliver optimized AI solutions for industries where data protection is crucial.
Beyond cloud and security, the partnership also includes an educational component. KT and Palantir will co-develop a localized version of the AIP Bootcamp, a hands-on training program designed to help companies implement AI solutions. Adapted to the Korean market, the program will provide AI and data competency training for KT employees and clients, strengthening the adoption of AI technologies in various industries. The AIP Bootcamp, conducted 1,300 times in the U.S. last year, is expected to be key in expanding Palantir’s reach in Korea.
KT’s collaboration with Palantir follows its strategic alliance with Microsoft, announced last year. This alliance involved a 2.4 trillion won ($1.65 billion) investment over five years to develop AI and cloud technologies. As Korean telecom companies seek to monetize AI-driven services, KT is leveraging global partnerships to accelerate its AI transformation.
At Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, KT CEO Kim Young-seob spoke about accelerating AI adoption, emphasizing plans to achieve tangible results with Microsoft this year. The upcoming commercialization of KT’s AI, based on GPT-4o, and its Secure Public Cloud in the second quarter is expected to be a turning point for monetization. Additionally, KT will deploy Palantir’s software internally to optimize business operations and collaborate closely with Palantir engineers, further solidifying its position as Korea’s leading AI transformation accelerator.
