The information and communication technology (ICT) based telecom service provider of South Korea, KT announced on Wednesday that the enlargement and commercialization of the new artificial intelligence (AI) technology-led “5G Infrastructure Intelligent Control Solution” has been completed.Â
According to the South Korean telecommunication giant, the new AI-powered 5G Infrastructure Intelligent Control Solution is designed for more effective control of 5G infrastructure. It will ensure operational efficiency, provide amenities, and offer compatible settings simultaneously.
The AI technology employed in the new KT 5G control solution will be able to detect deteriorations in network status in real-time. Additionally, the 5G control solution can determine the quality of specific equipment based on past experiences.
KT remarked that their newly developed AI solution further illustrates the constraints of access as well as core equipment mainly into five stages. This approach makes it easier to understand the equipment and any degree of abnormality present.
One of the heftiest advantages of the latest 5G infrastructure control solution is the least hassle of hiring an expert. The company believes its solution can be infused into 5G infrastructure networks easily while bearing the slightest obligations only.Â
Customers will prefer to respond quickly in the event of a failed or deteriorating network in 5G communications. According to KT, customers can also respond before a network breakdown occurs. The response process is convenient and comprehensive, from problem assessment to implementing appropriate measures.
There are currently four institutes in South Korea where the company has laid out their 5G infrastructure control solution. These include Samsung Seoul Hospital, Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, Korea Aerospace Industries Co. Ltd., and also the official Navy Headquarters.Â
In the coming months, KT aspires to see more installations of the new AI-led 5G infrastructure manager. An expert from the company’s Convergence Technology Institute conveyed that with their innovation, they are looking to remove the hurdles faced by network operation as well as give a helping hand in revitalizing the 5G infrastructure business across the country.Â
Infrastructure is a crucial component in establishing stable 5G networks. South Korea currently has one of the fastest 5G download speeds globally all thanks to their competitive and globally top-ranking mobile carrier corporations.
South Korea has a history of early commercializing 5G network communication. In April 2019, the Korean populace across 85 cities was enabled to utilize the fastest network of modern times. With that, South Korea became the first country to commercialize 5G technology.Â
South Korea recorded around 28.07 million subscribers of the 5G network in 2021. The country witnessed a sharp 600 percent rise in subscriptions when compared with the previous year i.e. 2019.Â
Last year, the total number of 5G subscriptions crossed 34 million. It is anticipated by the South Korean Ministry of Science and ICT that they will be able to expand the number of subscriptions by 90 percent in the next 3 years with an upgraded communication network version.
