KT Corp. Launches AI-Powered QANDA Subscription Services for Students

South Korean telecom company KT Corp. has introduced two subscription services for QANDA, an AI-driven learning platform. QANDA, widely used by 98 million students worldwide, helps users solve academic problems through artificial intelligence.

Developed by Korean startup Mathpresso, QANDA is the company’s flagship service. KT has invested 10 billion won ($6.8 million) in the venture, making it the first telecom provider to offer QANDA through a strategic partnership.

KT has become the first telecom provider to launch a subscription service for QANDA, an AI-powered learning platform that uses optical character recognition (OCR) technology. The platform allows students to take a photo of a question, and the AI delivers a solution within five seconds. It offers step-by-step explanations, hints, and personalized guidance to support self-directed learning.

QANDA also enhances learning engagement by providing follow-up questions and video solutions from experienced instructors and top university students. The platform features detailed explanations for over 1,200 workbooks and mock exams, contributing to high user satisfaction. Currently, more than 8 million students across 50 countries use QANDA each month, with total searches reaching 7 billion.

KT has introduced two subscription plans: QANDA Premium and QANDA Premium Lite, priced at 18,500 won ($14) and 11,000 won ($7.50) per month, respectively. The Lite plan, exclusive to KT users, is ad-supported and available at a discounted rate of 5,500 won per month for new subscribers who sign up by March 31. The promotion lasts until June. After the promotion, KT will continue to offer a permanent 2,000 won discount, reducing the Lite plan’s monthly fee to 9,000 won.

Kim Young-Jul, executive director of KT’s Service Product Division, highlighted that QANDA enables students to access a 24-hour self-directed learning environment. He added that KT plans to expand its AI-driven services to provide more personalized learning experiences.
