Aging and environmental pollution continue to affect people’s fertility and eventually reduce the quality of life. Compounding the situation is the reduced ability of people to personally visit their healthcare providers to seek medical advice or consult on how to improve fertility.

Jihoon Kim, CEO and founder of INTIN, a global healthcare manufacturing and service platform, understands the concerns and believes that innovative products can further help individuals address their fertility and general healthcare problems.

INTIN’s products are designed to manage home and medical devices that people encounter in their daily lives through a dedicated app. Particularly, the company’s proprietary ovulation test using saliva and sperm test products have helped thousands of couples thus far.

“We will continue to develop competitive innovative products overseas and challenge ourselves to become the global #1 health platform,” Kim said.

Korea Tech Today talks to Kim to know more about INTIN’s revolutionary products and the company’s plans for the future. Edited excerpts below:

Please briefly tell us about your company, INTIN.

INTIN is a health platform company that develops interesting and innovative products and services with the motto of ‘Design your health’.

What is the product lineup of INTIN as a healthcare manufacturer?

INTIN’s products are designed to manage home medical devices we encounter in our daily life through a dedicated app. The ovulation test using saliva and the sperm test that can be easily tested at home are the representative R&D products of INTIN.

The Multi Respiratory Diagnosis Treatment System (hereinafter referred to as OVU Multi), which is scheduled to be released next year, enables the treatment and treatment of the otolaryngology department to be managed in one system.

When you go to the hospital, after measuring body temperature, measuring respiration volume, checking the condition of the nose, you receive a prescription from the doctor, and depending on the condition, nose washing or inhalation, nebulizer (a device that inhales drugs in the form of spray), and LED treatment is performed.

It enables remote medical treatment that can be easily managed by Diagnosis and treatment are possible by replacing the module for each function in one power communication unit, and the diagnosis and treatment contents can be stored and managed in the app. The measured data is linked to the hospital through the app so that you can receive prescriptions such as a few milliliters of nebulizer dose and a few minutes of LED treatment.

What kind of product is Oview M Pro (sperm tester)?

The sperm tester can check the health status of sperm, such as the number and activity of sperm, in real-time through the app in conjunction with a smart device. Modern people are threatened with sperm health due to frequent stress, smoking, and environmental pollution. In conjunction with a smart device, the health status of sperm, such as the number and activity of sperm, can be checked in real-time through the app.

What about Oview W (ovulation tester)?

The ovulation test using saliva checks the salt content in the saliva according to the increase in estrogen level on the day of ovulation. This is a very easy and simple way to check the date of ovulation by checking the crystal structure of dried saliva. Using an ovulation test, couples who wish to become pregnant can establish a more specific pregnancy plan, and on the contrary, it can be effectively used as a contraceptive tool.

What are the main differentiation of the INTIN’s products compared to the other manufacturers’ ones?

INTIN also signed an export contract with a Russian pharmaceutical company for the product. The biggest advantage of the ovulation analyzer is that it is possible to check the date of ovulation with a drop of saliva, such as saliva, so there is no time and place restriction unlike existing tests.

We heard that INTIN products are attracting attention not only in Korea but also in the global market. In what countries are the products currently being sold and distributed?

Currently, it is being distributed under a contract with a Russian business partner as a marketing and sales distributor, and has entered Southeast Asia, etc., and plans to enter the North American market with the CES Award as an opportunity.

When did you start the company and what was your motivation?

It was first started in 2008 as a wholesale and retail company under the name of ‘Jongro Medical Equipment’. After 20 years of experience in wholesale and retail of medical devices and sensing market changes, I started research and development for home test products in 2016. became a manufacturer. Now, the name of the company has changed to INTIN in 2018, which means we are transforming to the new era.

Lastly, please explain about Intin’s future goals and business strategy.

INTIN wants to solve the social problem of digital healthcare. The low fertility problem or diseases caused by aging and environmental pollution reduce people’s quality of life. Our goal is to help you lead a healthier life with INTIN’s technology. We are not satisfied with the present and plan to continue developing digital healthcare products in the future. We will continue to develop competitive innovative products overseas and challenge ourselves to become the global #1 health platform company.
