Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has partnered with Hyundai Motor Group (HMG/the Group) to advance purpose-built vehicles (PBVs), the companies announced on Wednesday. Hyundai Motor Group will integrate the latest Snapdragon® Automotive Cockpit Platforms into its PBV infotainment system as part of this technology collaboration.Â
PBVs are envisioned as the future of mobility, offering transportation services and tailored experiences in comfort, logistics, commercial activities, and healthcare for individual users.
The integration aims to deliver a comprehensive, seamlessly connected, and intelligent user experience, ensuring passengers and drivers can access its features and functionalities while moving.Â
The purpose-built vehicles (PBVs) developed by Hyundai Motor Group will incorporate Qualcomm Technologies’ advanced Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platforms to provide passengers with digital in-vehicle experiences.Â
Leveraging the latest generation of Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platforms, the infotainment systems in PBVs are designed to deliver a smart user experience. These platforms claim optimal power consumption capabilities, ensuring efficient performance while offering top-tier graphics, immersive multimedia, and high-quality audio experiences.
With advanced artificial intelligence (AI) Engine and machine learning (ML) capabilities, these platforms enable systems supporting digitally advanced applications such as in-vehicle virtual assistance, adaptive human interfaces, and communication between the vehicle and passengers for safety and comfort.Â
Since 2011, Qualcomm and Hyundai Motor Group have been working together in the field of Snapdragon® Automotive Connectivity Platforms for in-vehicle mobile communications experience.Â
These platforms offer a range of advanced features, including location services, emergency calls, noise reduction, and dual SIM capability, empowering innovative vehicle designs that prioritize stability and exceptional modem performance. Moreover, the integrated solutions these platforms provide facilitate connected car design, ensuring a connected and sophisticated driving experience for users.
The Snapdragon Automotive Connectivity Platforms enable dynamic configuration management, ensuring that vehicles remain up-to-date with the latest advancements. This feature also allows a cloud-based vehicle monitoring and management system, leveraging cloud service solutions to optimize vehicle performance and connectivity.Â
