Hyundai Motor, in cooperation with LG Electronics, introduced on Thursday the IONIQ Concept Cabin, which transforms Hyundai transport vehicles into personalized mobility solution that integrates the considerable interior space with home electronic technologies suitable with various lifestyles.

The IONIQ Concept Cabin marks Hyundai’s latest vision of providing future dedicated electric vehicles (EV) with enhanced in-car customer experiences.

Hyundai would maximize the spacious interior and huge power supply capacity of the EV with custom-built home appliances and electronics in its future IONIQ models.

Uniquely Transforming and Enhancing Customer Experience

The IONIQ Concept Cabin gives a preview of future EV interiors that features small electronic appliances, making life more comfortable. The IONIQ would provide customers the ability to finish routine tasks while on the go like clothing and shoe care.

Hyundai also equipped the IONIQ model with a 77-inch flexible OLED screen from LG mounted on the ceiling. The screen display could support a split-screen allowing different contents to play simultaneously. Users could also adjust the curvature of the screen for maximum viewing experience.

Headrests contain the speakers where the sound comes out to create an uninterrupted personal sound zone. The IONIQ Concept Cabin introduced a floor-cleaning robot and an overhead UV LED light for disinfection as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wonhong Cho, Hyundai’s Executive VP and Global CMO said that the IONIQ Concept Cabin uniquely transforms and enhances customer experience. Dedicated EVs would modernize and alter Hyundai’s technology to deliver more improvements inside and outside the vehicles for its customers.

Hyundai aims to lead in the electrified mobility technology with its recently launched IONIQ dedicated EV lineup brand.

Hyundai’s dedicated EV platform, the E-GMP (Electronic Global Modular Platform), would showcase the IONIQ vehicles for exceptional customer experience.

LG Electronics, a major home appliance manufacturer, increased its presence in recent years with its in-vehicle infotainment solutions. The company introduced its connectivity concept for cars at the Consumer Electronics Show last January.

In late August, Hyundai collaborated with international K-pop group BTS to release a new song, “IONIQ: I’m On It,” to celebrate the launch of Hyundai’s new dedicated EV brand IONIQ.

Hyundai intends to launch the IONIQ 5 along with its value-added features early next year.
