Hyundai AutoEver, a software subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, has partnered with Maersk Contract Logistics (MCL) Korea to advance logistics intelligence technology. The two companies made an MOU on March 10 at MCL Seoul, to develop an AI-powered logistics intelligence system.
As part of the agreement, Hyundai AutoEver and MCL Korea will collaborate on developing advanced logistics solutions and plan to establish an innovation center within the first half of the year. This center will serve as a hub for testing and refining new logistics technologies, aiming to enhance efficiency and drive digital transformation in the industry.
Hyundai AutoEver will leverage its expertise in system integration (SI), robotics, AI, and cloud-based smart factory solutions to develop optimized logistics intelligence technology. Meanwhile, MCL Korea will provide a real-world testing environment to validate logistics data and AI-driven solutions, ensuring their practical application in the industry.
Hyundai AutoEver is building logistics automation systems and IT solutions at MCL Korea’s apparel-focused omni-center in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province. Spanning approximately 35,800 square meters—about the size of 15 soccer fields—the facility will enable seamless integration of both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) operations, improving efficiency across supply chain processes.
The collaboration also supports Hyundai AutoEver’s vision of Software-Defined Logistics (SDL), a system that centralizes the management of all logistics center operations, including receiving, storage, sorting, and shipments. By integrating various automation technologies and robotics under a single software platform, the company aims to enhance flexibility and operational efficiency in logistics management.
Hyundai AutoEver plans to advance its SDL services through this partnership, allowing better control over diverse automation equipment and heterogeneous robotic systems. The initiative is expected to drive digital transformation in logistics, optimize workflows and improve overall operational performance.
Jang Yeon-se, head of Hyundai AutoEver’s SDx (Software-Defined Everything) division, stated, “We will provide customers with an intelligent logistics center that enables real-time data processing and integrated control of various robots and equipment, leveraging our 20 years of expertise in smart factory technology.” He added that Hyundai AutoEver aims to enhance manufacturing intelligence for logistics clients through its Software-Defined Logistics (SDL) services.
With this collaboration, Hyundai AutoEver is advancing its SDL strategy, which centralizes and automates all logistics center processes, including warehousing, storage, sorting, and shipping. By developing a unified system to control multiple automation facilities and robotic technologies, the company seeks to enhance the efficiency and adaptability of logistics operations, ultimately driving digital transformation in the industry.
