CJ OliveNetworks, a digital software developer in South Korea, announced on Wednesday its initiative to engage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and ethical security hackers, known as white hat hackers, in its ‘White Hat Program’. The company has partnered with Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), a prominent internet and information security protection organization, as well as leading security startup, Find The Gap.

The White Hat Program provides SMEs with free security advice, solutions, and educational services. CJ OliveNetworks emphasizes that the program will be a collaborative effort, requiring support from the government, corporations, and the public. Its objective is to foster a healthy and also competitive information security ecosystem in the country.

CJ OliveNetworks has previously operated a social welfare program called ‘CJ White Gap’ for the past three years. After partnering with Korea Internet & Security Agency and Find The Gap, CJ OliveNetworks has now renamed CJ White Gap to the White Hat Program.

Empowering SMEs and Ethical Hackers for Security

As part of this new collaboration, KISA aims to enhance information security standards and revitalize the information security industry. By partnering with KISA, SMEs will gain knowledge and skills to effectively respond to threats. KISA will also develop a bug bounty platform to incentivize the detection and disclosure of threats.

Find The Gap is a security startup that is leading the bug bounty culture in South Korea. A bug bounty is a system of reporting threats and acquiring rewards. Find The Gap is creating a business environment where white hackers and businesses can exist side by side. In the new partnership, Find The Gap will lend the platform for big bounty competition and it will also be in charge of mentoring university students.

CJ OliveNetworks will oversee the overall planning and operations of the program in the new partnership. The company is focused on environmental, social and governance (ESG) management, a framework for evaluating how well an organization performs in its operations and relation to certain ethical and sustainable challenges.

The White Hat Together program encourages SMEs involved in information technology to participate. Applicants this year will have the option to engage in bug bounty activities and access information protection consulting and solutions. This year’s White Hat Together program will accommodate 30 additional seats for businesses compared to last year.

Information security is a significant global concern. It is required to protect sensitive information and also safeguard technologies. Effective information protection is crucial in today’s digital landscape to prevent data breaches and uphold confidence.
