Guro-gu will run the “G Valley Industrial Tourism” program. Guro-gu announced on April 9th that it has prepared a “G Valley Industrial Tourism” program to publicize G Valley, a leading high-tech industrial complex in South Korea, and boost the tourism industry.

Under the name Guro Industrial Complex, G Valley has been leading the economic growth of South Korea since the 1970s and 1980s and has transformed itself into a state-of-the-art complex leading the IT industry since 2000. The official name is also called “G Valley,” combining the first letter “G” of the Guro Digital Complex and the US-based Silicon Valley’s “Valley,” the center of the world’s software industry. Guro-gu has been selected as an industrial tourist destination, considering that G Valley contains the past, present, and future of the Korean industry and is densely populated with IT and knowledge-based industries.

Industrial tourism will be divided into Magenta Course, a day-to-day event, and Orange and Green Course, both on a half-day schedule. Orange Course is organized to explore and experience the Global Industrial Tourism Cooperative, which displays strong small business products in the Guro Digital Complex; IOYS, which runs 3D printing and figure production business; Esofting, an education consulting firm; and Winart, an industrial design and prototype developer.

Green Course is a course to explore and experience the Global Industrial and Tourism Cooperative; Hanki Engineering, a specialized builder in textile materials; Welcron, a multi-channel call center; and Artificial Intelligence chatbot developer Broad CNS and Anse technology to build aviation industry software. The Magenta Course will be visited by combining the schedules that were divided into Orange and Green Course.

“G Valley is an exotic tourist destination where the past, present, and future of the Korean industry coexist,” a Guro-gu official said. “As various experiences are prepared for each company, I hope many participants will include elementary, middle and high school students who are on vacation, buyers who are interested in new industries, and residents who are interested in exotic experiences,” the official added.
