Korean company Cookie Languages(CL), which serves a voice-recognition interactive English learning app FanE, won the AI startup China finals held by iFLYTEK, China’s largest AI-specialized company.
Cookie Languages(CL) is the first language learning service that enables users to have virtual video conversations with native speakers.
The competition, which took place in Beijing on March 21, was held through pitching, demonstration, and in-depth interviews. CL’s FanE was named the winner Top 3 for its skill and creativity. With the award, CL will receive investment and technical support from iFLYTEK Incubation.
CL will add functions that automatically recommend learning content based on taste and mood as well as user’s proficiency in English and Chinese by utilizing AI image recognition, emotion recognition, and natural language technology.
It is more meaningful since it is a rare achievement for a foreign company to win a Chinese startup competition.
iFLYTEK is China’s largest AI company and ranked sixth on the list of the world’s top smart IT companies by MIT, with ratings higher than Tencent, Alibaba and Baidu.
