DANO, which is a start-up business for women’s fitness and diet, has attracted approximately 4 billion won (US$3.54 million) in investment. The investment was led by Murex Partners, SV INVESTMENT, and existing investors such as GS Home Shopping Inc. and AJU CAPITAL CO., LTD. participated. Dano’s accumulated investment is about 6.5 billion won.
Dano develops fitness for women, food for diet, and coaching services. Lee Ji-soo, also known as the Fitness Influencer, will lead the group and provide useful diet information through the YouTube channel. It not only runs a content business but also provides an integrated diet solution with developing and distributing food for healthy eating habits through Dano Shop, offering diet O2O online coaching service through Mydano, etc.
In particular, Mydano’s accumulated payments surpassed 100,000 customers, while Danoshop was the only food brand to be chosen in the 2018 Olive Young Health & Beauty Award MD pick 20.
“Dano is the only startup in Korea that combines mobile fitness coaching and diet food commerce,” said Kang Dong-min, vice president of Murex Partners who led the investment. He explained the background of the investment saying, “After this investment, Dano is expected to aggressively expand its external combustion and improve its more integrated experience.”
