Korean tech company LiBEST, stated on the 2nd that it will exhibit ‘flexible lithium-ion polymer batteries’ and an Apple Watch accessory, ‘Artenix Band’ in Las Vegas at CES 2019.
Flexible batteries opens up an era of wearable electronic devices. Limiting factors have traditionally been flexibility, reliability, safety and charge capacity. LiBest has secured performance, safety and reliability from more than 5,000 bending tests at 15mm radius, 70° angles, and 20 speed bends per minute while having an energy density between 120 and 130Wh/L.
LiBEST is planning to release Artenix bands to crowdfunding such as Kickstarter and Indigogo in the first half of this year.
Besides smart watches, flexible battery technology can be applied to variety of wearable devices such as Bluetooth headset and smart glasses. It also plans to release a variety of products such as Artenix Wallet, Artenix Shoes, Artenix Belt, and Artenix Bags.
“We are going to accelerate movement towards wearable age through flat battery technology.”
