VEStellaLab Inc. (CEO Jeong Sang-soo) was recognized as an excellent example of a cybersecurity system applicable to smart city solutions and won the MOFA Award at WACON 2023, an award for excellent cybersecurity companies designated by the government.
Bestella Lab’s “Watch Mile” solution uses AI technology to analyze CCTV footage to detect parking spots in real time, and to guide the shortest route required for parking. The solution provides parking lot information and navigation services to drivers via smartphones, and autonomous driving and parking services are available even in a non-GPS environment through V2I (Vehicle to Infrastructure) communication between self-driving vehicles and the IoT network.
During the CCTV video analysis process that precedes the parking navigation service, a data encryption and automatic video masking prevent the risk of hacking or external data leakage. In addition, in order to strengthen the network security during the V2I communication process, a firewall has been built to safely protect data from unauthorized access or malicious attacks. “Watchmile,” equipped with the security system, has been installed in various critical facilities at the “A” level, which is the highest level of security assessed by the National Intelligence Service.
In Korea, WatchMile has also been implemented at Incheon International Airport, Seoul Station Public Parking Lot, KINTEX, and Lotte Department Store Jamsil Branch. As the company plans to enter overseas markets such as Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, VEStellaLab is actively promoting the smart parking system to its potential local partners.
