The tech consortium, KAIT (Korea Association for Information Communication) and KTOA (Korea Telecom Business Association), released an Android and iOS app that informs users of tailored data plans based on collected data usage.
“MyData” through Smart Choice mobile app, analyzes a person’s current plan and then recommends an appropriate plan should there be a mismatch in what a service provider offers, and what the customer actually uses. The objective is to promote smart consumerism by improving awareness of telecommunication usage in real time.
The two groups improved the service through a month-long trial operation from the 18th of November 2018 to the 30th of December 2018.
“It is expected that through this service, users will establish their own personal information control and utilization rights by directly managing their own information, and will contribute to saving real telecommunication expenses by inducing users to change their own custom rate system that is suitable for individual users.”
Representative for KAIT and KTOA Consortium.
More details on the service can be found on the smart Choice homepage which is a communication service fee information portal and on mobile (searching ‘smart voice’ in Google Play and App Store).
