Naver Cloud (CEO Kim Yoo won) hosted “NAVER Cloud Finance Day 2023” at the Four Seasons Seoul Hotel on October 25.
The event, themed “Financial AI Innovation with HyperclovaX,” attracted about 300 executives and employees from major financial institutions in Korea, such as the Financial Security Institute, KB Kookmin Bank, Mirae Asset Securities, and Hana Financial Group. They shared examples of digital innovation, such as the application of generative AI technology in the financial sector and insights on the future of the financial industry.
The event featured NAVER’s large-scale AI solution, HyperCLOVA X, its financial-specific solutions, and examples of its adoption in the financial sector. NAVER CLOUD highlighted the security, reliability, and accuracy of HyperCLOVA X, as well as how the solution has been actively applied in the financial sector, where security and stability are critical, just two months after its release.
In the keynote presentation, Naver Cloud CTO Gwak Yong-jae expressed the company’s ambitions, saying that Naver Cloud, which has developed its own AI technology through the creation of an AI ecosystem, will take the lead in increasing the productivity of the financial business and strengthening the competitiveness of AI. Ha Jung-woo, head of Naver Cloud’s AI Innovation Center, introduced ways for financial sector workers, including office workers and data researchers, to use HyperclovaX to innovate their work process. He also announced a plan to improve services using Sovereign AI, which understands the Korean language better than other solutions, to provide content suitable for Korean culture.
Next, Yoon Young-jin, Naver Cloud’s AI business team leader, introduced NeuroCloud for HyperCLOVA X, which boasts strong security as the cloud is applied inside the customer’s company, and CLOVA Studio, which specializes in financial AI using HyperCLOVA X. Yoon said that HyperCLOVA X is the best solution for the financial sector.
Cases, where HyperclovaX was used to increase work productivity and help with customized marketing were also introduced. Oh Sun-young, head of KB’s AI Center, introduced generative AI technology in the workplace using large-scale AI as a method to increase the work productivity of bank employees. Ahn In-Seong, head of the digital division at Mirae Asset Securities, shared examples of HyperCLOVA X summarizing companies’ performance announcements or translating overseas market news to deliver stock information to customers. Hwang Bo-hyun-woo, Head of Data Department at Hana Financial Holding, introduced an example of HyperCLOVA X applied to a chatbot for customer counseling. He announced that his company plans to apply generative AI to various services to improve workplace efficiency and customer satisfaction. Park Jin-Seok, Head of Digital Strategy at the Financial Security Agency, introduced risk factors that should be considered when applying AI in the financial sector and shared information on digital security by introducing AI-related compliance that should be followed to reduce security incidents.
