Kakao Mobility Corp. revealed on Friday that it has formed a strategic alliance with the construction division of Samsung C&T Corp. to improve its robotic solutions in residential settings. The partnership, formalized on Wednesday, seeks to incorporate Kakao’s BRING robot into Samsung’s residential platform, Homeniq, and its building platform, Bynd, with the goal of creating customized services for modern living spaces.

Under this collaboration, Kakao Mobility will implement robots and smart parking solutions in Raemian apartments. The initiative will extend the use of the BRING robot, which has been successfully utilized in hotels and office settings, into Samsung C&T’s residential complexes and buildings.

The collaboration allows Kakao Mobility to enhance the functionalities of its BRING robot, extending its offerings beyond indoor deliveries to encompass cleaning, outdoor deliveries, and valet parking services.

Since April, Kakao has been rolling out BRING in various locations, starting with the cultural space NOUDIT in Seoul and later at the RESTREE Resom in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, in August.

Furthermore, the partnership will investigate potential synergies between Kakao Mobility’s Kakao T Parking service and Samsung C&T’s residential and building platforms. This effort will focus on creating and piloting innovative services, including smart parking solutions, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and robotic valet parking.

Initially, the robot services will be trialed at two new Raemian apartment complexes, with plans to introduce related solutions across several additional sites in the future.

Jang Sung-wook, head of Kakao Mobility’s Future Mobile Research Institute, stated, “This agreement will allow us to expand the scope of BRING’s application and challenge Kakao T Parking in a more advanced form.”

The companies aim to deploy large-scale robot services at two newly constructed Raemian apartment complexes, starting with a pilot program that will involve more than 20 robots. This initiative is part of their broader strategy to integrate advanced robotic solutions into residential environments, enhancing convenience for residents.
